Palo Alto

Gia Coppola’s acclaimed debut feature Palo Alto tells the stories of High School students Teddy, April, Fred and Emily who search for both cheap thrills and meaningful connection in their suburban hometown of Palo Alto. Teddy is a sweet natured stoner with a crush on April, who is being flirted on by her adult football coach. Teddy’s friend Fred is becoming increasingly unstable, as Emily uses sex to receive validation.

Adapted from James Franco’s collection of short stories, Palo Alto captures the loneliness and frustration of fragile adolescents left to flounder among real-world perils. Featuring original music from Blood Orange’s Devonté Hynes, Palo Alto displays break-out talent both in front of and behind the camera, with stars Emma Roberts and Jack Kilmer and director Gia Coppola proving that talent doesn’t skip a generation. Out now on DVD and VOD.
